The following are a few typical questions you may have about FareSaver.

What is FareSaver?
FareSaver is an electronic card approximately the size of a credit card, which is used to purchase bus travel at a discount.

What are the advantages of FareSaver?

• Discounted fares on most journeys, 7 days a week.
• Transferable from one person to another.
• There is no expiry date.
• Simple to use.  There are no PIN's to remember.
• Details of card usage are available.

How much will I save?
Savings depend on the length of the journey and are set out on our fare scale which is available from the driver (10% of the regular cash fare, rounded to the nearest 10 cents.) View the current TransdevTSL - Shorelink Buses Fare Schedule.

How does FareSaver work?
On boarding the bus, simply hand your FareSaver card to the driver and state your destination. The driver will issue a ticket and the electronic ticket machine will eject your card. The issued ticket will show the following:

• the normal fare
• the discounted fare you pay, and
• the value left on your card FareSaver

The ticket must be retained for the duration of the journey.

When can I use FareSaver?
FareSaver cards can be used 7 days per week on any service, including School Special Services.

Who can use FareSaver?
FareSaver is transferable.  If you wish, other family members or friends may use it as well. Standard student and pensioner concessions apply in addition to the FareSaver discount. Concession cards need to be shown to the bus driver when boarding.

How much does it cost to start my FareSaver card?
A $10 administration fee is applicable to each card purchased. FareSaver cards are of sturdy construction and with normal care will last indefinitely. A set of care instruction is included with your new card. The minimum initial credit for travel on your card is $20.00.

To start your card up the total minimum payment is $30.00.

Where do I get my FareSaver card?

• At our depot at 33 Beaumont Road, Mt Kuring-gai, telephone: (02) 9457 8888 (Mon-Fri).
• Download the FareSaver Card Application and send by fax to 9457 9086.
• Download the FareSaver Card Application and send it to TransdevTSL - Shorelink Buses PO Box 138, Mt Kuring-gai NSW 2080.
• By giving your bus driver the completed application with cash, cheque, money order or credit card details. They will then bring the application to our depot for processing and your FareSaver card will be forwarded to you by post.

Payment in cash can only be accepted at the depot. Otherwise, payment must be by cheque, credit card or money order.

How do I add credit to my FareSaver card?
Simply hand your FareSaver card to your bus driver and tell the driver how much credit you would like to put on your card (minimum $20.00) and the driver will validate your FareSaver card with that amount. Payments to the bus driver can be made by cash, cheque or money order.
